Meta launches Meta AI App: showcasing social AI integration

Meta has officially launched its standalone AI assistant app, Meta AI, powered by the company’s latest Llama 4 large language model. This release marks a major step forward in making artificial intelligence more accessible and integrated into everyday digital life, especially across Meta’s family of platforms: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.

One of the app’s standout features is the “Discover” feed, where users can browse and share AI-generated content including prompts, creative writing, and visual artworks. The feature promotes a community-driven approach to using AI, encouraging users to experiment and be inspired by others. The assistant also supports natural voice interaction, making it easier for users to talk to the AI on the go.

Users can access Meta AI directly within group chats using the tag “@MetaAI,” allowing them to get answers, generate ideas, or plan events without leaving the conversation. Creative tools, such as image generation and editing, are also included. Users can also create visuals from text prompts or enhance photos instantly. Meta AI is also integrated with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, enabling hands-free use and continuous interaction across devices.
